Shuyu Narita Roshi, abbot of the Tondenji Temple (Akita, Japan). In 1987 Dohushô Villalba received the Dharma Transmition from master Narita with the authorization to teach Zen and to create Zen communities.

Francisco Denkô Mesa


(La Orotava, Tenerife,1967) The Zen Master Francisco Denkô Mesa received the Dharma Transmition from Dokushô Villalba Roshi, being his legitimate successor and the second Zen master in CBSZ.

Denko sensei

Denkô Mesa Sensei has been the general coordinator of the Program in Buddhist Studies that is organised by this community; he published : “The History of Buddhism: Origins and Doctrines”, by Miraguano publisher. Currently, he is the vice president of CBSZ and he lead the Tenerife Zen Dojo (Zanmai San).
In 1991 he finished his degree in Spanish Philology from Laguna University, Tenerife. His task as a Zen Master is compatible with his job as a Spanish languages and literature teacher at a Height School in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
